Beautiful painting, James. I had two questions: Did you work from both photographs and field sketches? You seem to frequently use something close to yellow ochre to draw the intitial shapes. Is it simply a preference, or is there a complementary color reason? Thanks.
Thank you, Steve! I worked only from photographs on this one. I use yellow ochre for my initial drawing - not so much for a color choice but to keep my drawing from getting too dark.
