House on Quality Hill

A few years ago I painted this small watercolor study of a nearby house, with the intention of painting a larger oil soon after.

It took a few years but I finally returned to the subject and the oil painting is done.  The Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House (named for the three families who have resided in it) is Fort Worth's premier example of Queen Anne-style Victorian architecture.  It was built in 1899 on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River in an area then known as Quality Hill.
