This impressive building contains museums and monuments all relating to the military history of France. It is also a hospital and retirement home for war veterans as well as the burial site of some of France's war heroes - including Napoleon, who is entombed under the dome.

I titled this painting "Parisienne", but my subject is more likely a tourist than a native Parisian. I saw her posing for a street artist in Montmartre and later noticed I was under the watchful eye of the lady in the window (the girl's mother?).
