A Series of Adjustments

One of my teachers used to say, "a painting is a series of adjustments" -  and there are hundreds of adjustments to make when painting a portrait.  I'm focusing on painting this girl's face now and hopefully each brushstroke will get me closer to capturing her likeness.

Many adjustments also take place here.

  1. This child's lovely face is utterly lifelike - her silken hair looks as if it has just been brushed. She is absolutely beautiful. No wonder you are in demand for your portraits. . . . . I think your palette is inviting too. It is interesting to see the colors used in her fleshtones.
