10" x 8"   Watercolor


Fort Worth's very own TCU Horned Frogs are 2011 Rose Bowl Champions!  TCU purple is all over town.  When I saw purple roses in the market, I knew I had to paint one.  First a watercolor in my sketchbook (above) and then an oil painting.

    My wife said, "They named a team the Frogs?" Being a transplant from Houston, she is uninformed of Mascot Slang I suppose. Nice painting James, but is there really a purple rose?

    Like it James, especially the light reflecting from the glass "rose bowl". Awesome way to celebrate the TCU win, and an exquisite rose!
